Finding a legal aid solicitor

The simplest way to find a legal aid firm of solicitors, is to use our find my nearest online search by town, postcode, or name of solicitor firm.

Registers of solicitor firms

Firms of solicitors who undertake legal assistance work have to be registered with the Board. You can view listings of registered firms in table format (as Adobe Acrobat pdf):

Please note that you can use the Find facility in Acrobat to search the listings. You should also note that although a firm is registered for legal aid work, they may not be taking on new client cases. You can use our online find my nearest search or call our Legal Aid Helpline on 0845 122 8686 if you are finding it difficult to find a legal aid solicitor.
