ACCESS TO INFORMATION

You can read our leaflet on Access to Information (in pdf format) to help explain what information you can get from the Board under data protection and Freedom of Information laws. This leaflet explains

  • how you will find out what information we hold about you
  • how we will treat any information that we hold about you
  • how you can get access to other records and official information we keep

Our Publication Scheme tells you what information we publish.

How do you ask for information?

You must write to us, or contact us in another way that we can use for further reference - for example, by e-mail or fax. Please see the 'How to contact us' section below.

An individual or an organisation can make the request, and you do not have to be in Scotland. You do not have to quote the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act or explain why you are asking for the information. It will help us, however, if you mark your letter "Freedom of Information".

How to request information that we regularly publish (and is listed in our Publication Scheme)

We aim to provide as much as possible of the items from our Publication Scheme on this website. This should be the first place to look for information. Our website has a search function that can help you find the information you want.

You can also ask for items from our Publication Scheme by telephone, e-mail, fax, or in writing. If you want paper copies of any documents in our scheme, please contact us.

How to contact us

For members of the media and public requesting information about the costs of cases please note that these cannot be fully assessed immediately after a trial has concluded. Defence legal representatives have four months from the conclusion of proceedings to submit their accounts. Upon receipt, all claims will then need to be assessed before payment can be made.

e-mail: foi@slab.org.uk (please only use this e-mail address if your query is about Freedom of Information. If you have any other type of query, you can contact us at general@slab.org.uk).
